WHAT IS THE RUBBER DUCK RACE?
Every year we put thousands and thousands of rubber ducks in Monument Valley Creek and hold our breaths until we have a winner. This could be your year to win one of over a hundred prizes…. and we're talking very cool prizes. We even have a prize for the last duck…
WHAT IS CYSTIC FIBROSIS?
Cystic Fibrosis is the number one genetic killer of children and young adults in the United States to date. Approximately 30,000 people in the United States have CF. A defective gene causes the body to produce and abnormally thick, sticky mucus. This abnormal mucus leads to chronic and fatal lung infections and impairs digestion. Currently, there is no cure. For more information on this disease, please visit our web site at http://www.cff.org
Many of your children may already have a Duck Certificate through the East Colorado Springs Rotary "Adopt-A-Flock for Schools" program. You might want to check to see if your child's school is involved.
HOW DOES IT WORK? Cystic Fibrosis provides an "Official Duck Certificate" to each person who adopts a Rubber Duck for the race. The Duck Certificate has a number on the bottom right corner- this is your lucky number, because somewhere behind the start line is a duck with that exact same number on it. Please call our local office if you are interested in obtaining your certificate in advance. Call (719) 444-8966 and ask for Kim or Becca.
